A few weeks ago we showed you photos of Sinead O’Connor looking unrecognisable. Now the 44-year-old singer has been spotted again as a backing singer for Natty Wailer looking like a frumpy old man!

Sinead wore a very unflattering stomach-baring black net cropped top and an awful trouser suit.

Her badly cut hair makes her look like a boy and the gold crucifix hints at Sinead’s unstable relationship with religion.

This was the Nothing Compares 2U singer’s first Irish performance in five years and Sinead insisted to the Irish Independent that she had a great time:

‘I really enjoyed it. I’ve been here in Bray for five years and have always been a bit jealous of bands I’ve seen here. 

‘It’s everyone’s childhood dream to play on a bandstand.’

What happened to the ethereal beauty that we remember, with the haunting brown eyes? The elfin beauty we remember has been replaced by an overweight woman with badly cut hair.

Sinead has suffered bouts of mental illness since she rose to fame in the early 90s, she has attempted suicide a number of times and is now attempting a comeback.

Before Nothing Compares 2 U, she was a moderately successful, relatively ‘niche’ artist, though well-respected in the industry. That single changed everything, and brought her A-list status overnight — something that never sat comfortably with her.

Sinead has had three husbands, four children to different fathers and a string of lovers, mostly other musicians.
