2011 fashion disasters from Cheryl Cole to nipple slips

It is StyeJacking’s first year so we think that 2011 is a particularly special year but what were the biggest fashion moments of the year? We have put some of our favourite celebrity fashion disasters of the year.

We think that the fashion mistake that had the biggest impact on a celebrity has to be Cheryl Cole’s outfit for the first X Factor USA auditions. The sleeveless orange frilly top, purple trousers which were much to big added to the turquoise belt were a style disaster. Not only that but the Geordie lass teamed it with huge, over the top hair! We have no idea why she thought this was a good look. It was actually painful.

She looks like a floating lion.

At the beginning of last year we saw Rihanna wear a Christmas tree dress by Jean Paul Gautier at the Grammy Awards. The dress was first spotted on male model Andre Pejic. It was really quite awful we thought.
Obviously we could not do this post without featuring Lady Gaga. The difficulty is, which awful fashion moment do you chose? Yes we had the satellite outfit from the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast and the awful shoot where she dressed up as a man but we think that her appearance on the X Factor where she appeared with a headless corpse tops the list.
Another regular on the worst dressed lists has to be Katie Price but again, which awful outfit do we chose? The gold jumpsuit she wore to launch her new book, Comeback Girl, was truely awful but we chose the full-length white dress she wore to the VIP Style Awards in Dublin on 25 March. Hideous.

Cher Lloyd has given us some great fashion disasters to laugh at over the year but this Granny chic look had to be the worst.

Cher looked a little like a Tellytubby, or like she had been attacked by some green and white toothpaste!

Nicki Minaj loves bright colours and although this outfit hit the headlines because of the nipple slip, the sartorial choice itself deserves some attention. The crazy green and pink combination is just painful on the eyes.

There were many bad hat choices in 2011, not least the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie at the royal wedding. However, we have already covered the wedding so we chose another bad piece of headwear.

Designer, Catherine Hamnett, wore a crazy peacock feathered creation to accept her CBE from the Queen in Buckingham Palace in the summer of this year.

The 63-year-old Central Saint Martins Graduate became known for her t-shirts with slogans like ‘Frankie Says’. She wore a plain black dress and flat pumps with the crazy creation.
